Research activities
Research team of Prof. Čellárová is involved in investigation of bioactive compounds with anticancer activity which are produced by some representatives of the genus Hypericum. Recently the study is mainly focused on comparative analysis of transcriptomic data with an aim to identify key genes and encoding enzymes of photodynamically active naphthodianthrones and phloroglucinols and their localization in the plant by the newest imaging technologies. Study of biosynthetic potential of endophytic microorganisms isolated de novo from some Hypericum species along with elicitation of secondary metabolism by biotic and abiotic factors represent as essential part of the study. The results will be used to design biotechnological alternative of their production.
